Tuva Turisthytte
Hotels & Mountain Lodges | Tuva Turisthytte was built in 1915, and is situated at 1200 m.asl. on the Hardangervidda mountain plateou. It is one of the oldest cabins in this area, and has been run by the same family for 4 generations. Mailiza and Sigbjørn are the current hosts, and will do their best to make sure you have a pleasant stay with a good atmosphere.
Tuva Turisthytte has 6 bedrooms furnished in the original style from 1915 with a total of 20 beds. They offer, 2-bed rooms, 4-bed rooms, dormitory and also Arctic Dome (glamping). Should you not find the type of room you are looking for, pleas get in touch directly for more alternatives. Toilet, washing facilities, showers and drying room is situated in a separate buildings.
Guests must bring their own sheets, sleeping bag liner or sleeping bag. Alternatively you can buy one time use sheets at check in. Pets are not allowed in the rooms, if you wish to bring your dog, pleas get in touch directly to make arrangements. The cabin does not have electricity at night, after 23.00 the engine used for electricity is turned off.
Checking in/out: You can check in at latest at 18.00 on the arrival date. For late check in, pleas call +47 48219414 to make arrangements. Check out on departure at latest at 10.00.
Meals: Dinner is served at 18.30. For the main course traditional Norwegian food is served (dish of the day), followed by desert and coffee. Pleas inform of special dietary needs at latest the day before arrival. Pleas note that the stay includes dinner and breakfast, beds only is not offered. Breakfast is served between 08.00 and 09.30, and you can make a packed lunch and fill your thermos bottle if needed (price for lunch and thermos bottle comes in addition to the price of the stay).
Weather conditions: Pleas note that the road to Tuva is not cleared of snow in winter time, the cabin is only accessible by cross country skies. Weather conditions may change quickly and there is great understanding for last minute changes due to weather conditions.
Transport Summer: The road normally opens by the end of June, the start of July, depending on the snow conditions. This is a private road and you pay toll on a website youpark.no within 48 hours. All the money will be used for the maintenance of the road. The road is not open for campervans.
